{"id":104,"date":"2008-10-09T14:02:57","date_gmt":"2008-10-09T20:02:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nemblog.dreamhosters.com\/?p=104"},"modified":"2008-10-09T14:10:39","modified_gmt":"2008-10-09T20:10:39","slug":"windfall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nemblog.dreamhosters.com\/?p=104","title":{"rendered":"Windfall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So many cool things have happened lately, I should take note of them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Negotiated a great deal on the house &#8211; the owners came down more than I thought they would<\/li>\n<li>Won a $500 gift certificate to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.homfurniture.com\/\">Hom Furniture<\/a> (talk about luck &amp; perfect timing!)<\/li>\n<li>Got a call from my mortgage banker letting me know he got me a great, low rate (BTW &#8211; the feds lowered the interest rate a half point <strong>after<\/strong> I talked to him &#8211; it might be even lower now, I&#8217;m meeting with him tomorrow to find out)<\/li>\n<li>My proposal for a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ndsu.nodak.edu\/govschool\/\">North Dakota Governor&#8217;s School<\/a> of Information Technology was accepted by NDGS Executive Board<\/li>\n<li>I was named the new coordinator for the NDGS-IT program (woot!)<\/li>\n<li>I was able to help a friend save hours of labor with a couple quick UNIX commands, thus furthering my alpha-geek status :)<\/li>\n<li>Got a call from my friend Chris Grant and had a good &#8220;catchup&#8221; chat<\/li>\n<li>Went to the Osgood <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hornbachers.com\/\">Hornbacher&#8217;s<\/a> and got some of the Sage Derby cheese I like<\/li>\n<li>When I came out of Hornbacher&#8217;s there was one of the largest, most perfect rainbows I&#8217;ve ever seen<\/li>\n<li>The weight loss trend has continued &#8211; I&#8217;m down almost 30 pounds since May. Bad thing about this is that I&#8217;m going to have to go buy new jeans<\/li>\n<li>Tons of friends have come out with offers of boxes, vehicles, and labor to help with the move<\/li>\n<li>Hopefully (not 100% yet) found a good home for my kitty<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\/\">Obama<\/a> is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fivethirtyeight.com\/\">way up in the polls<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Much to be happy about!<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So many cool things have happened lately, I should take note of them: Negotiated a great deal on the house &#8211; the owners came down more than I thought they would Won a $500 gift certificate to Hom Furniture (talk about luck &amp; perfect timing!)
